Zoey is 6!

O.M.G. Zoey is six years old! The only way to celebrate when you are a photographer is of course to do a little photoshoot!

Last night at 10:30pm (great timing I know) I thought we have to have her little yearly photoshoot! This year follows along with my own 24th birthday photos! Pretty in pink!

The only way to follow up with these photos is the story of Zoey- my bestie.

I got Zoey in June of 2014, right after I graduated high school. After begging my parents for a dog for 18 years of my life, my mom one day said “Here is some money, why don’t you go buy a puppy”

Ummmmm……… for those of you that know my mom know she is not an animal person at all! I grabbed the money and ran! My dad had no clue at all. I always wanted a Shih Tzu. I would play with my childhood neighbors dog, and thought it was the dog for me. Then I met Zoey & I just knew she was the one.

She is a Lhasa Apso….. I know what your thinking. What the heck it that. I then reply with- basically a Shih Tzu. Which is probably incorrect, but easier to comprehend.

I still remember the first day that I had Zoey as mine. My dad came home and my mom was sitting on my bed, and I am on the floor with this little puppy. He goes “You didn’t”. He was so shocked that my mom would let that, and that I went and got it.

That night, I sat on the couch and cried with this little fluffy dog in my lap and said “I don’t know if I want a dog, I’m not responsible enough” Yea…. I was 18. I had never had a pet of any kind other than goldfish. This was a huge step for me.

She has been a huge part of my life for the past 6 years. She has been there for some pretty big moments. Moving in to my first place, new jobs, breakups, new relationships, living with different people, deaths of family members, getting married, starting a business, up’s and down’s and so much more.
